Paul Jones

Postby YYZ » Sat Jul 10, 2004 10:17 pm

Recently a friend passed along a bottle of Paul Jones to me. The bottle is not in the greatest of condition but it was sealed (not anymore he he) when I got it. I have tried in vain to get some information about the quality, characteristics etc of this whisky. My friend informed me that it's at least thirty years old and possably upwards of fifty. Is there any way I can determine the age from the bottle or label? I am reletively new at this but I assume that even if it was of moderate quality to begin with then sitting in the back of his fathers shed for thirty plus years must have done it some good. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thx :)

The whisky won't improve any while resting in the bottle. It only really matures when it is in a cask, although some believe that a whisky does still mature to a very small extent while in the bottle.
