how to conduct a whisky tasting

I have a Scot & Irish gift store. In it I carry Whisky magazine. Now people want me to host a whisky tasting, but I know nothing about how to do it. Does one use an official tasting glass? If so, what is preferred? How many varieties are expected at one tasting? Does one serve food? Is there a protocol that I need to be aware of? Can someone out there please help me?

You can also try www.smws.com and www.scotchwhisky.com for advice on glassware and tasting whisky.

Glassware is very important, as is the selection of whiskies and the nosing/tasting procedure.
