Poit Dhubh

Postby Admiral » Thu May 15, 2003 3:20 am

Tasted Poit Dhubh (black label) last night and was quite impressed. It gave me the impression of Talisker watered down with an inoffensive speysider.

The interesting feature was how it teased you into thinking you were drinking a robust island malt, when that's not entirely the case.

Anyone else have any comments on it?

Poit Dubh is excellent at 12 yr old unchilfiltered and the 21 yr old is also excellent if you can stretch to £50 a bottle.

The whole stable of Praba Na Linne whiskies is worth checking out, especially the Macnamara.

I hope they'll be at the Whisky fringe again this year.

apparently there are 6 sources for this blend. There are 8, 12, 21 and 30 year old available as well. 21 is excellent, bought at nearer £40 than £50
