Glenlivet - Nadurra

Have just realized that there are different batches of Nadurra. Yay! Now we can talk about it forever, like the a'bunadh freaks. Recently bought batch #1206B, 59.2%, bottled 12/06. The previous one was #0606A, 57.2% (no prize for guessing the bottling date).

Batch no's 11138 bottled 2006 10/19

Also 11289 bottled 2006 11/22

Both 1 litre bottles. I'm getting a new anorak next week.

Currently enjoying the same Glenlivet that T. lists Nadurra Batch 59.2%1206B. Will likely buy 2 more of these for the drinking stock. A real fine single malt.

Damn. I wish I'd known that. I've been through two bottles since last October. I loved them both. I have no idea which batch they were from.

Eric Cantona was truly a legend. I only managed to see him play live once, and that was when he was at Leeds (against Man U of all people)

This video is a great memory of him, and includes his mad wee moment when he showed a gobby cockney the error of his ways!

Got a shock today at the Whisky Exchange in London... there was the "diluted" Nadurra (1 litre) sat quietly on the shelf...and the price...55 quid!! I nearly fell over... I think I paid about 40 Euro in DF... Also, no sign of the CS variety.

I love the stuff but I'll now be treating my bottle with a bit more respect

my notes, first tasting



the glenlivet - nadurra 16 yr cask strength un-chill filtered speyside single malt - bottled 06/06 - 57.2%

color: light hay

nose: a lot going on with this one- riesling, meyer lemon, raisin, honeyl, avender

mouthfeel: sudden alcohol, long alcohol finish in cheeks and gums..medium alcohol in the back of the throat

taste: WOW...riesling, sugar, corn, honey, vanilla, spearmint, woodsy..the first tastes bursts open with flavor, give it time before you try a second taste, floral aftertase..really nice

nose with water: sugar, banana, caramel, vanilla

taste with water: honey, grass, figs, vanilla, wood...tames the alcohol a bit and does bring out more flavors

try it neat first...wow what a burst of notes....then a few drops of water...
