For the 21yo it was £110. How does that compare with elsewhere?

Yeah I would have thought so. Things weren't generally cheaper in the distilleries. Just liked it and thought I'd save myself the shipping.

Thanks! Sounds a little bit more than in my local shop, but prices here in The Netherlands seem to be a little bit less heavily taxed than in the UK.

Sounds like a reasonable price for an unbelievable whisky! I just tasted it tonight and wow! Yes, very well integrated with the sherry, I wish I could remember which dry sherry it reminded me of. I hope enough come to Norway for me to treat myself to one. Time does need to be spent with it, so be ready, time well spent!

Hi Tord, welcome to the forums, nice to have another member here in Norway! It looks like The Whisky Exchange in London is sold out, and The Royal Mile is not listing it. But there are a few other great shops in London to check out. Good luck!

Royal Mile Whiskies had it, but it is completely sold out there. Look in the 'Dearly Departed' section of the site:

Thanks! But since I live in Norway, I really don't know the name of the shops in London. Can you give me a hint/clue?
btw, tasted it together with Graham last summer, and I must say, I want to taste it again!!

I just pre-ordered it in a shop in Amsterdam that has a very, very limited supply. You might want to give it a try, could PM you the email address if you like.. Let me know.

Maybe the Vintage House in Soho, or Milroy's or others? Do a search and that should get a few more hits of where to find it.

Where did you find it recordmeister? I agree, this bottle will probably be very collectable, but wonder who could not drink such a whisky if they buy it? I'm hoping to get at least one bottle, would love to get 2 if I can.

Yesterday was a very good day. My dear friends Matt & Duncan at TWE managed to get a bottle a couple a weeks a go. And I picked it up yesterday. WAHOO. As we've not seen a picture of it yet I thought I'd share this with you.

Congratulations Les, nice one.

It's really obvious that this expression has become immensely popular, almost everyone, whether they've tasted it or not, tries to get their hands on one of these.. I must confess, I pre-ordered one as well that I'll pick up on Wednesday :)

Let's hope it's as good as we think it is ;)

Sorry RM I won't be at the Diageo tasting. I would buy two. But I don't know where I'd get another one from. I feel quite fortunate to get this one.

It's arrived in New York. I just got a bottle. The shop up the street from my work got a case and is selling it a little below the recommended price, I think. It's not up at Astor's, or Park Ave's, or Beekman's websites yet.

Not sure when I'll be opening it. Far and away the most I've ever spent on a bottle of scotch, but couldn't pass it up.

They're not making it easy for us here in Norway either, with 56 new whiskies being released on Saturday, Lagavulin 21y one of them and one that will be very limited, it's time to roll the dice and hope I get one!! No orders taken before Saturday unfortunately!

they seem to have the Lag 21 on the Park Av website now, but the size of bottle is listed at 750ml. My "UK" bottle is only 700ml. Do you lucky bucks in the States get 50ml more for your money (I say more, it is listed at $300, well over the UK retail price of £110 which works out at $228 at todays prices! FYI £300 is justunder £145.)

We're paying 1500NOK over here, if we get one! Currently that would be about 134£. But with it selling out all over I'm sure the price will quickly rise anyway.

I just ordered one from K&L Wine Merchants in California at $289.99 with $12 shipping (Fed-X) yesterday (hope I get it), yeah it's expensive over hear to say the least but then there's always that extra 50ml.

Cheers!

atoto,

As someone pointed out above, it's at Park Ave. Check Beekman's, too:

http://www.beekmanliquors.com/

It's not listed on line, but they have the recent Brora and Port Ellen releases (at the best prices I've seen in NY), so it may be they've got the Lagavulin but in quantities too small to bother listing it.

For that matter you might also try calling Astor.
