Selling all my whisky - Please Help.

Postby LagaDrinker » Tue Apr 28, 2009 9:49 am

Greetings all,

It is with much sadness that I must offer my collection of 24 bottles up for sale. Redundancy is firmly on the horizon and I need to shift all my closed collection to generate some much needed cash.

I am looking to recoup as much of the money spent as possible so please PM me with sensible offers. I will post worldwide if needed and also I can accept Paypal. I have the following 24 bottles to offer...

Ardbeg 10 Years Old

Ardbeg Uigeadail

BenRiach Madeira wood finish - 13 YO heavily peated

Bruichladdich Golder Still

Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old

Caol Ila 12 Years Old

Dailuaine 16 Years Old

Douglas Laing Caol Ila 12 year old OMK

Famous Grouse - This is the Black Grouse

Isle of Jura Superstition

Lagavulin 16 Years Old

Laphroaig 10 Years Old

Laphroaig 10 Years Old, Cask Strength

Laphroaig 15 Years Old

Laphroaig Quarter Cask

Ledaig 10 Years Old

Mortlach 16 Years Old

Oban 14 Years Old

Talisker 10 Years Old x 2

Talisker 18 Years Old

Talisker The Distiller's Edition Amoroso Sherry - 1993 Vintage

The Balvenie 10 Years Old, Founder's Reserve

The Macallan 10 Years Old, Fine Oak

Please help and thanks for reading.

Sorry to hear you must sell.

Two questions:
1) Is there a bottling date on the Uigeadail?
2) What ABV is the Laphroaig 10yo CS?

I will charge the exact cost the post office charge me for postage. Its around £8.75 I think. If you wanted insurance that can be arranged as well.

Not sure of the bottle date of the oogie (I will check) but the Laph is 55.7%

Not looking to buy anything right now, but just wanted to say sorry that you are having to sell your collection in these circumstances and hope you find another job soon.

Hope whatever you've got open will see you through the tough times...

Very sorry to hear of your plight. It must be heart breaking for you to sell your collection; I know it would be for me. Hope you find another job soon. You could just keep the whisky and have a bloody good party, I'd come down to help you out on that.

all the best

Cheers John

Sorry to hear that LagaDrinker. I too lost my job (in finance) due to the global eco crisis so I really do sympathise.

Lagadrinker sorry to hear about your news. I met a guy yesterday who lost his job in February, he has now started up on his own. Is inundated with work, but not drawing any salary yet. Because if he starts properly in June he qualifies for £25,000 start up grant which he dosen't have to pay back.

Would you post to Ireland? I'd pay the postal charges. Wouldn't mind the BenRiach and the Ugideal if they're not already gone.

Laga, any idea on postage costs to Australia?
Might grab Laph CS if postage isn't OTT.

Sorry to hear the news, you must be devastated.
However, if you still have them at the end of May, I would definitely be up for the Benriach Madeira, Laph quarter cask and Jura superstition.
Please feel free to contact me direct if you havent shifted them.
The postage on all three should be around £15 which I will also gladly pay.
