Background to Knappogue Castle 1951 Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Knappogue Castle 1951 is the original vintage.
It is one the oldest and rarest Irish whiskies in the world.
Distilled in 1951 in the prestigious B.Daly Distillery Tullamore , Knappogue was aged in sherry casks for 36 years before it was bottled in 1987.
This Knappogue 1951 is available in a 75cl bottle and comes in a beautiful wooden presentation box.
" After more than three decades in the wood, Knappogue Castle 1951 has acquired a delectable oaky nose, a rich, lavish palate and a prolonged finish..." Robert Plotkin, Nightclub & Bar Magazine.
'The 1951 Knappogue Castle drove every stray thought from my head. Its flavour, not overbearing, was nonetheless strong and steady.....In its five decades on earth, it had grown into a whiskey of terrific complexity, one that demanded respect'
