Laphroaig Highgroves are like buses ...

Postby adogranonthepitch » Tue Aug 25, 2009 7:23 am

You wait ages then 3 come along at the same time.

Old Charlie boy PofW has decided to go from one Highgrove a year to almost one a month. Septembers release on the website now follows from the July bottling!

I think the hoovers will be dissapointed as they all look the same!

Suction lost... Clogged with Highgroves... It's less bover with a hover! (sorry to all Flymo owners)

Dog out

boxes are almost pointless, far too bit, plus posting them to the US costs way more as they g over the length limited to keep postage costs low.

Buses? hehe I'll go with that! Not only too big to ship to the US, it's also too big to put in my checked bag (and not crowd out my other goodies), unless I can find one at the duty free at London Heathrow next month I'll have to pass this bus!

Cheers!

I thought they didn't deliver outside the UK? That's what it said when I was going to order one anyway.

Not from the distillery itself, the only distillery I know that even possibly ships to the US is Bruichladdich and then only a select few dozen. If it were to make it to LFW, RMW, or TWE it can be easily delivered outside of the UK if size wasn't an issue. I'd be a little more miffed if it was a Lagavulin since there are very few Laga's available both in OB and IB, Laphroaig's on the other hand are plentiful and if I can't get this one there'll be others down the road to be had.

Cheers!

The shop is probably closer to Dublin than it is London, but I can't get it here. Borders!

Got some info from a friend re:shipping to the US.

It is illegal to send alcohol via Post Office, but by courier is legal (may have to pay customs though).

Most cost effective way is to send 4 bottles in 1 box, which costs normally £45-£55 for a 6-7kg box. If the box is too long though it tips postage costs over the lower weight/length limit, i.e. Highrove becuase of the length cost the same sending two bottles of this compared to 4 standard length bottles.

Service seems to take 2 days to reach destinations went sent from UK and tracked all way.

Does that mean they will post to outside the UK, Rob?

Sorry my wording is confusing. Highgrove as far as i'm aware don't post outside UK, the costs above are costs to me for sending bottles to friends in the US via courier.

Courier to Ireland 6kg box/ 4 bottles = £23 approx
