Bushmills Millenium Malt 25 years old

Me again!
Just ONE cask of this malt was matured for 25 years ie laid down in 1975 and not bottled until 2000 (all other were bottled ready for the Millenium) and were sold exclusively at the World of Whisky shops in Heathrow & Gatwick.
I have bottle number 245 (out of 246), cask number 230.
I also have a bottle from the same cask, no number - just called 'the angels share'.
These are both in wooden boxes with a gold plaque.
Any ideas what these may be worth and again where best to sell them?

It'd be best if you let us know where you are located so as to recommend somewhere.

The Bushmills Millennium retails for E250 ish in specialist shops so expect to get less on ebay or someone else [allowing for a shop's margin].

Considerably more than one cask was bottled as Millennium Malt. Bushmills bottled it for many private stores too. Mine is from Hi-Time Wines. Cask 46 bottle #48 of 66.

The Bushmills Milennium malt was laid down in 1975 and bottled in 1999 just in time for the milennium. A total of 365 casks were laid down and typically yielded 250-275 bottles (90,000 - 100,000 bottles). Some casks were shared and bottled for the different owners (like the earlier example), usually bottled at 43% although some cask strength examples exist and exclusively bourbon barrels as far as i recall. As you can see with the volume produced they are relatively common and frequently fetch €125-€150 on ebay. Very drinkable and well regarded by Irish Whiskey drinkers eventhough the different casks may differ noticeably in quality.

€250 is the upper end for retail specialists, more like €200 in the current climate!

Thank you for your replies, although I think some have misunderstood quite what i have here! It comes from the ONLY cask that was laid down until 2000 and it is aged and stated to be 25 years old (all other casks were bottled for the Millenium and were only 24 years old)

I was just hoping to find a specialist / collector but I am not sure where to find one. Is ebay my only choice?

Yes, the World of Whiskies one is a special bottling and you'd be expecting more for that one. I saw one for sale a good few year ago, but can't remember what it went for. It also came in a box, while the others were packaged in a slieve.

You're picture won't open for me. Maybe it's a problem my end.

I seem to remember a WOW bottle selling last year for ~ €270 ($375) but it wasn't ebay. WA or a private sale maybe? In any case, you need to find a group of Irish whiskey fans more than a group of Scotch whisky fans.

At the end of the day it is still part of the Millennium Batch and unless you find some one that is desperate to have this particular bottle it is no more valueable than the other 364 casks that were bottled. The whole market has changed drastically in the last 2 years and people are looking at these bottles in a total different way and most of the big spenders have dissappeared and a very cautious in how they spend their money.

You can regularly get Bushmills Mellinium for the €100 mark but one of the specialist retailers may offer up to 150 if they think they can push it on.

Unfortunately it is the way of the world at the mo.
