Thank you for contacting us. We think that this product may have been produced by Wm Teacher & Sons Ltd. Glasgow for import into Germany though we can't be absolutely sure. They certainly had a product called "Barrel 5" which contained Scotch Whisky. This particular batch may well have contained Tomatin Malt purchased from the distillery by this company. I'm afraid we can't give you any more information but suggest you contact the undernoted Scottish auctioneers who specialise in the valuation and sale of old and rare whiskies:
Whisky & Wine
McTear's is world famous for our auctions of Fine & Rare Whisky. Such is the international demand for our expertise in the category, our annual calendar has seen an increase to four auctions from three. McTear's is the most famous auction house in the world to conduct this type of sale with such high quality. We do of course hold several world records in the sale of whisky. The auctions of Rare Whisky also include Port, Cognac, Vintage Wine and, occasionally, cigars.
