Tomatin pure malt Barrel

Hi,

I believe that this Tomatin pure malt scotch whisky barrel is a rare collecters item. It was distilled by "The old house of Tomatin".
Can anyone tell me more about this barrel? It's 15 cm high with 0,5 liter whisky inside and it was never opened. How much it's worth and can you drink this?

It is quite old, but I don't think the content is worth much.
Regarding the content, yes you can drink it.

Hi Corbuso, I have sent an email to Firm Tomatin and this is what they sent me. So maybe it is a rare one :


Thank you for contacting us. We think that this product may have been produced by Wm Teacher & Sons Ltd. Glasgow for import into Germany though we can't be absolutely sure. They certainly had a product called "Barrel 5" which contained Scotch Whisky. This particular batch may well have contained Tomatin Malt purchased from the distillery by this company. I'm afraid we can't give you any more information but suggest you contact the undernoted Scottish auctioneers who specialise in the valuation and sale of old and rare whiskies:
