Buying old whisky

Postby Arrigle » Tue Jun 15, 2010 11:01 pm

Just would like to know what the danger of fakes is when buying from an online site like this one. I'm not at all trying to imply that there is a problem. I simply know, in an unfocused sort of way, that there are a lot of problems with 'Italian' fakes -- and a lot of the bottles offered here are of Italian provenance.

Thanks.

Another example, I guess, is:

Again, let me stress that I'm not trying to imply there is a problem to my knowledge. I have no idea. Hence my wish for advice.

If you want to taste good and old whiskies, you would have to take the risk.
Most of the sought after whiskies from the 1960s and the 1970s were only available in Italy. If you have any doubts, don't buy.

PS: So far, I have been always pleased with Diego (goodwhisky...)
