Where can i take my Whisky to be Valued?

Postby Bexb0110 » Sat Nov 20, 2010 9:24 pm

Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help? Does anyone know where i can take my Whisky to be valued and where i can sell it if it is worth anything - auction house etc, vintage shops etc?

I am based in Oxford, but i am willing to travel if someone can recommend a place where they have had dealings.

Thanks

McTears, based in Glasgow, are probably one of the best auctioneers for whisky, they offer a valuation service via phone or e-mail as well as valuation days across Scotland, for more information go to http://www.mctears.co.uk/. Bonhams hold whisky valuation days in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, dates for which can be found on their web site at http://www.bonhams.com/eur/home/. You could just put it up for sale on eBay with a reserve of what you hope it worth.

Post your finds on the forum. I would be interested to see the valuation they place on your 15yo Dalwhinnie.

Cheers John
