Where can i take my Whisky to be Valued?

Postby Bexb0110 » Sat Nov 20, 2010 9:24 pm

I was wondering if anyone can help? Does anyone know where i can take my Whisky to be valued and where i can sell it if it is worth anything - auction house etc, vintage shops etc?

I am based in Oxford, but i am willing to travel if someone can recommend a place where they have had dealings.

McTears, based in Glasgow, are probably one of the best auctioneers for whisky, they offer a valuation service via phone or e-mail as well as valuation days across Scotland, for more information go to Bonhams hold whisky valuation days in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, dates for which can be found on their web site at You could just put it up for sale on eBay with a reserve of what you hope it worth.

Post your finds on the forum. I would be interested to see the valuation they place on your 15yo Dalwhinnie.
