Bowmore 1971 (21 years) and Macallan 18 1977

I found in a wine shop not 300 meters from my home a bottle of Bowmore 21 years distilled in 1971 for 57,10€ (38,6 GBP) complete with the original light green box, and yes I bought it.

It feels like a great deal and I hope a good dram also. Should I drink it (my first option) or resell it?

My other question is regarding three bottles of Macallan 18 distilled in 1977 they have for 84, 5 € (57GBP) each. The price isn't as good but it seems like a pretty good bargain as well. Is this vintage of the 18 years worth that kind of money? I have read at other forums that the real outstanding vintages of these whisky ended at the 1970's. Was 1977 a good year for Macallan?

Drink the Bowmore, spend the extra E85.00 on TWO extra bottles of two different whiskies.

Trust me on this, you won't regret it.

Keep the Bowmore a side and share it with some good friends at special ocassions.

The Macallan's from 1977 are quite good and certainly worth your money

Good advice, I´ll keep the Bowmore.

Regarding the Macallan I don´t know if it is 20€ better compared to a 64E 1984-5 Macallan. Knowing myself is just a question of time before I return to the shop to buy it.
