1958 Macallan

I have a bottle of the Macallan and was wondering what it was worth.It has the "vintage" label and has 1958 embossed on the label. There is also a smaller label in the neck with 1958 printed on it.

Any experts got an idea as to the approximate worth ?

The Book "Collecting Malt Whisky 2003" lists the Macallan 1958 as going at auction in 2000 for £115-200. However please note since I am refering to a book and have never seen your bottle I'm not sure if the value is correct for your bottle.

You didn't buy it in Italy did you?

Actully, it was a gift from my Mother. She worked in the whisky indusry in Edinburgh, Scotland for over twenty years.

I had always thought I'd crack it open on a landmark birthday, but then it occurred to me that I didn't actually know how much it was worth.
