1977 Glenlivet Special Jubilee Reserve

Postby Coachmanny » Sat Nov 06, 2004 5:17 am

I came upon a pristine bottle of 1977 Glenlivet Special Jubilee Reserve with the box in mint condition. I do not have any interest in it, but would like to sell it. It is #368 of 1002 shipped to the United States. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

A similar bottle with a similar label was made for the Royal Marriage and that was also a 25Y old Glenlivet and very limited

The Silver Jubilee however is a different story, why don't guys check at The Glenlivet Distillery, they must have an archive overthere (or even better check with Martin Green).

Coachmanny aims for a startingbid at $500 sounds like a fair start to me.

i dont speak to the distillery every time i need to i think they would get abit fed up and i wouldnt waste my time with martin green hes overated as far as i know the silver jubilee and royal marriage where about the same amount of bottles hopefully somebody will tell me if im wrong
most distilleries dont have a archive most are starting them up but even they dont remember everyhing they have sold

Chivas do indeed have an archive and answer customer inquiries. You can contact the archives at Strathisla Distillery, Station Road, Keith, Banffshire, AB54. Don't know the e-contact and tel details - you may be able to find them on the Chivas website.
