You could try Bonhams in Edinburgh http://www.bonhams.com/departments/WHI/ or McTears in Glasgow http://www.mctears.co.uk/ but they both have high seller premiums of around 18% plus VAT on the hammer price. Then there is Mulberry Bank in Glasgow http://www.mulberrybankauctions.com/home.aspx with a seller's commission of15% on the hammer price, plus other fees. If you want try an online auction house, then in my opinion Scotch Whisky Auctions is your best bet http://www.scotchwhiskyauctions.com/ with seller's premium of 10% plus £3 per lot to cover handling

A few recent prices on this one to help you ask the right questions at the auction house before you sell.

£700 Bonhams, Edinburgh 16th June 2010
£700 McTear's, Glasgow 7th December 2011
£850 McTear's, Glasgow 2nd May 2012
£680 McTear's, Glasgow 6th June 2012
There was one in the 13th Auction at Scotch Whisky Auctions that finished in May but it failed to meet the reserve, although the highest placed bid was £880.

You don't have to have a reserve but if you do decide to put one in place then be realistic.

£800 after transaction costs would be ambitious but you never know. It only takes two competing buyers who really want it...

If you're following this thread, you might want to keep an eye on Lot 446 at Mulberry Bank Auctions for their 26th June 2012 auction http://tinyurl.com/btl42te
Their guide price for this Johnnie Walker is £900 - 1,100. Let's see how it does...

Sold in the room for £950 towards the end of the whisky sale. Looks like the price is continuing to climb on this one, so good luck!
