Postby peterekstrom » Wed Feb 09, 2005 1:10 pm

Hello all.
I'm lloking for a nice whisky distilled in 1971, the year I was born.
I would appreciate if you can give me a tip/idea where to buy and what to buy.
Please supply me with internet links.

That's the year I was born too... Anyway, how much are you looking to spend?

Well.
I'm afraid I have to spend quite a bit of money to land a nice whisky. I'm therefore open to almost any suggestions.
I'd rather spend a large amount of money on a really nice whisky than a little on a mediocre one, if you understand what I mean? After all, I'm only planning on turning 40 once in my lifetime and I guess then it will be quite some whisky to open

The Glenmorangie 1971 is the best Glenmorangie I've ever had, buy it!

Lawrence, can you recommend it to someone who, like me, generally doesn't like Glenmorangie a whole lot?

I'm also from the fine and rare vintage of 1971!! :D

I've decided to buy a bottle of Macallan 1971 vintage at £430.
Distilled at 1971 and bottled 2001.
Hopefully I can afford this in may... Then I can have it on my shelf for almost a year before I open it up on my 35:th birthday!!

Yes, I can recommend the Glenmorangie 1971 to you, it's very different with more depth and polish.

(Carol Ila indeed :P )

Oh, you live in the Colonies, MrTattieheid?
I thought you forgotten to add a link to your message.
I'ts very nice of you to look for whisky "over there" for me but I guess it would almost be cheaper for me to buy a distillery in Scotland than a bottle of fine whisky from where you live.

Hopefully I've found a Glenmorangie -71 for a reasonable sum. I'll let you all know. Meanwhile, perhaps you guys could help me look for Internet shops in Europe selling whisky from -71 and let me know if you find one?

Best Regards
