Who has tasted Black Bowmore?

Postby Aidan » Sat Feb 19, 2005 4:10 pm

Is it just collectable or is it a great whisky? There is one for sale on ebay at the moment and another on whiskyauction.

It's great whisky although it is has reached collector status and the price is becoming quite high.

Thanks Laurance

I know, there is a bottle on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 10491&rd=1 .

I'd love to try it. Are there going to be some kind of new editions of this whisky?

No, it's all done, that's why the prices are so high.

Well, I understand they aren't going to create new from 1964 that doesn't currently exist. I was wondering if they are currently maturing any bowmore distillate in the same way as they did the black bowmore?

The question is how much are you prepared to pay ?
You can still find them but the prices are reaching 1300 quid!!! and more.
I know of a shop that has a bowmore which is black, and its the closest thing to the old black bowmore out there, its a bowmore 1964 from a fino cask, but thats at about 1300 quid aswell.
