Spotted Balvenie Founders Reserve for £33 a bottle at a local store today. Should I be buying some?

I'm not sure what conditions are like in the UK, but it is still relatively easy to find in the States, and at noticeably lower prices. Just my $0.02.

Well, I know that I am seriously out classed in the company of such esteemed collectors around here. But here is my collection:

Next week I want to get Old Pulteney 12yrs as I've never tried it but it sounds fascinating with all these "fresh" and "ocean" flavours. I plan to get (repeat buy) The Glenlivet Nadurra cask strength (my favourite whisky so far-just ahead of Yamazaki 12yrs). I also want to get The Glenlivet 18yrs as I've read good things about this too.

2 whiskies I'm "umming and ahhing about" are Aberlour A'bundadh and Glenfarcias 15yrs. I've read that these are very sweet and I'm not overly keen on "sweetness" in whiskies. A little bit is nice ( such as in Highland Park 12yrs) but I found that for eg, The Dalmore 12yrs had a kind of rich sickly sweetness. So I just haven't made up my mind whether I should try at least one of these.

A paricular liquor store here in Australia has a range of Bruichladdich whiskies. So I also want to get a quality non peated whisky from this distillery, such as a 15yr old. I also want to try Knockando 12yrs.

The Singularity Cask 66 is a special bottle put out by Julio's liquors for members of their Loch and K(e)y club. It is the first time a store was allowed to pick their own cask and have it bottled by Balvenie, hence the singularity. Essentially, it is a Balvenie 15 that they selected. I don't remember offhand how many bottles but certainly under 300.

Awesome! I was able to pick one up, and also have one in the mail to Sir Dino (who just recently hit me with a "Balvenie Care Package" that includes 6 incredible samples!!!!).

I pinged Julio's to see if I could get one more bottle and they were completely sold out. So we'll probably only see this on the secondary market, if at all.

ganga and I have been working on trying to have a beverage from each of the distilleries on the list. But we didn't have to 'own' a bottle of them all. Sometimes samples or split bottles for the rare stuff...

I don't have my own site but I do have some pics. I really need to do almost all again since I got the new camera, The pics are so much better now as you can see from the last two.
