Quite an impressive collection of Arran's. Must be one of the biggest Arran collections around.

Would you swap you a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Cask Finish for a holographic Charmander (Japanese version)?

Ian Kendal is bottling his own cask of Arran malt - it's a sherry cask. Have a look at the Whisky For Sale section. It will be bottled at 10 or 11 years, and I can testify to its quality. Could be ready for bottling at the end of the year.

Hi,

the Arran bottles I listed are only for collecting, bute I have some doubles, especially some finishings, for drinking.

I don't collect malts from other distilleries, but I have about 30 or 40 for drinking.

I do that regularly... we have a pretty active 'whiskycommunity' here in Belgium... so I have help.
The above list is actually outdated...I made that compilation in januari. I think about 10-15 bottles out of the list will probably be near dead right now 8) But a couple of others have taken their place. Most notably a number of Blackadder Raw Casks have been added,
from memory:
Glenrothes 14yo
Auchroisk 14yo
14yo Mortlach
27yo Glendronach
28yo Glen Grant
Isle of Jura
BUnnahabhain 17yo sherry
Port Ellen
and a couple of others that skip my mind right now
also 2 OMC's
27yo 1974 Ardbeg
28yo 1972 Brora
a couple of distillery labels by G&M
Strathisla 1960
Glen Grant 1958
Glen Grant 1956
Glenlivet 1965
Longmorn 1968
Some M&H collection
Tomatin 1965-2005
13yo Blair Arholl sherry (cask str)
Caperdonich 69-2006
and I'm forgetting a couple no doubt...

Whenever you're in Belgium, Limburg...or thereabouts, feel free to give my a sign, and you're welcome for a 'dramming-session' :D

Some unopened ones..not all of my whisky for sure, just some I found info on for now.

- Aberlour A'Bunadh 59,6% (from 1998) - first release, another bottle is 59,9%, batch number 6, 2000 - (darker colour) , 0.7 litre. Bought the first bottle from Milroys after the whisky was indeed launched for UK market int he very same shop.

- Ardbeg 17 yo, 40% - 0,7 litre

- Ardbeg 1977 Limited Edition,46% - 0,7 litres x 2. Got one from the distillery, and another from Milroys a bit later.

- Ardbeg 1975 Limited Edition, 43% - 0,7 litres x 2, (one bottled in 1998, other in 2000). One was bought from a tax-free shop in Andorra of all places, the other came to my possession at Islay after a kind gentleman who worked for Bunnahabbhain hinted that a tiny store in the middle of nowhere still had some bottles of this nectar.

- Ardbeg “Lord of the Isles” 25 yo Limited Edition,46% - 0,7 litre. Got it from Milroys.

- Bladnoch 17 yo, Cadenhead's, 57,2% - 0,7 litre. Tasted this whisky in Finland, thought it was abslutely delicious, and got the bottle from Dallas, USA.

- Bladnoch 18 yo (1980 - 1999), Cadenhead's individual cask, 300 bottles, 57,5% - 0,7 litre. Got this from a friend who had just come back from Scotland and opened a bottle - beautiful whisky! I bought the 2nd bottle off from him.

- Bowmore Claret Bordeaux Wine Casked, Limited Edition, 56% - 0,75 litre. Got it as a true bargain from Singapore airport in July of year 2000 after a visit to see a friend who was living in Singapore as an expat.

- Brora Rare Malts Series 20 yo (distilled 1975), 59,1% - 0,7 litre x 2. One was bougth from Oslo-Gardemoen airport, the other from Philippines.

- Bruichladdich 20 yo, 46 %, 0,7 litre. Bought from the distillery.

- Bruichladdich 1986 “Valinch” Limited Edition, Oloroso cask 700 / bottle 218 out of 1200 (bottled personally on site 25.08.2001), 46 %, 0,5 litre

- Clynelish 14 yo, Flora & Fauna, 43% - 0,7 litre. From a whisky store in Blackpool.

- Edradour 10 yo (purchased in 1998), 43% - 1 litre. Bought this from the now long gone whisky store in Tallinn in 1998, used to be there right next to the Soti Klubi (Scottish club).

- Glenrothes 1987 (Bottled in 1999) 43% - 0,7 litre. Got this from Milroys one hot summer 1999.

- Highland Park 18 yo, 43% - 0,7 litre

- Imperial 20 yo (1975 - 1996), Milroys of Soho bottling, natural cask strength, 59,9 % - 0,7 litre x 2 . First one was bought when Mr. Doug McIvor was still running the store, 2nd from when Mr. Tim Errock was the manager. Both gentlemen were extremely distinguished persons to whom I wish all the very best, and rememebr with gratitude their kindness and enthusiasm in guiding me to the world of whiskies.

- Lammerlaw 10 yo, 43% - 0,7 litre. This was a kind donation from colleagues after I visited New Zealand and helped them out in 2001 spring. Already out of shop stock at that point, they managed to dig upone bottle from somewhere for me!

- Lammerlaw 12 yo, Cask Strength, 50% - 0,7 litre. From Milroys again.

- Longrow 10 yo Sherrywood (purchased in 1999), 46% - 0,7 litre - same palce as above.

- Mortlach 16 yo, Flora & Fauna, 43% - 0,7 litre, unopened. Same old Mirloys.

- Rosebank 7 yo, Milroys of Soho Bottling, 60,x% - 0,7 litre x 2 - name says it all. My colleague & I got bumped from our flight of London - Helsinki due to plane arriving late to Heathrow from Glasgow in summer 2001. BA booked us to a hotel, and we, both being whisky enthusiasts, dashed quickly to Milroys! We got to taste this bottling and agreed - fantastic. Both bought several bottles to take back home.

- Rosebank Signatory Millenium Edition 10 yo (vintage 1990), Cask no. 533, 43% - 0,7 litre. From WOW (World of Whiskies) Terminal 1 Heathrow.

- Rosebank 9 yo (1989 - 1998), Cadenhead's individual cask, 306 bottles, 58,8% - 0,7 litre.

- Rosebank 8 yo (1989 - 1997), Cadenhead's cask strength bottling, 59,3% - 0,7 litre.

- Rosebank 12 yo, Flora & Fauna, 43 % - 0,7 litre

- Springbank 21 yo, 46% - 0,7 litre

- Springbank 15 yo rum wood

- Connemara Cask Strength, 59,7% - 0,7 litre

Sorry, didn't wanna bore you with more stories..!

Hey M.R.J.

You don't bore us at all with stories like that. I find it very amusing and interesting to know the stories behind the bottles, very nice ones by the way...
Keep up the good spirit and bring us some more...

Cheers

Thank you!

It just highlights in my view how each of these bottles is a piece of history, in more ways than one.

They not only represent the distillery's history, but to me, they also are pieces of my personal history and form a link between my career, friends, places visited & people met. In this sense their value as items is often diminished when compared with their value as "memory refresheners" (and all this without even sipping a dram from their contents! ;-) .

Who bottled the Caol Ila??? is it a rare malt or an independent.

Escott, why does'nt the rest matter? - 50 whiskies are a substantial number and I'm sure that there are some fine ones in there...

Yes, I want the nitty gritty too... what you drink on the week-days etc

That bottle you love but afraid to tell every one about

Signature I believe. I have had it a long time along with the Macphails. Probably 20 years. I have it packed in my suitcase and will unpack it tomorrow. I will post a follow up.

I had a 22 year old and a 29 year old I was sipping but they are all but finished. They were both super but the 22 yo is done and the 29 yo almost empty. I have Blanton's Bourbon, Canadian Club 12 year old, JW B, G, GO, BL, Swing, Cardhu, Dewers 12 yo, Glenlivet 12, 15, 18 Glenfiddich 15, 18, Balvenie 12, 21, Macallan 12. This is off the top of my head. I am at a hotel at the airport at the moment.

I was going to drink the Macphails 45 yo when I was 45. Didn't get it done. Was going to do the same when I turned 50 and 55 and still havent gotten it done. I am now going to serve it at my bar in the Dominican Republic when I get there tomorrow. I just dont know what to charge for it.

I have Frapin XO, Leapold 20 Carrot and Dalmaine Cognacs unopened if anyone is into that stuff:) I have a nice collection of Tequilas also.

When I read the collections here it makes mine feel miniscule compared.

Maltloving lawyer - that's a lot of Arran. It works out as one bottle for every 29 days of the distillery's existence. Or, given that it couldn't call its products whisky for the first three years, one bottle for every 20 days that it has been able to bottle whisky.
