Just how collectable is it?

Postby Lovejoy » Tue Apr 29, 2014 1:03 pm

I'm new to collecting malts.

However I've come across a "Silent Stills" Glenury Royal 25 year old, Single malt presentation box in "original" condition. I can't find these anywhere. But as it is only 1 of 186 bottles I'm not too surprised. However there seem to be one or two of the 24 year old presentation boxes floating around. The 24 year old which is is a bottling of about double the numbers of the 25 year old seems to be pretty desirable.

I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me more about what I've got, and how collectable it really is. I have contacted Bonhams who gave me an auction value but I do realise that its really up to the collectors who determine these things.

Many thanks for any help

Not sure what the market is but you certainly don't find Glenury around very much

Yes, it's been interesting digging around to find out about this one.

I have one of these bottles. If it comes with the miniature in the wooden box it would probably be worth £300 - £350 at auction, but you obviouslu have costs out of that.
