Oban 12 years decanter

Hi frinds,
bought this week a Oban 12 y in a five corner glass decanter for 10 euros (stop crying i bought it empty!). The green/red label tells: 12 Years Old Oban Unblended Highland Malt Scotch Whisky. Bottled In Scotland, John Hopkins & Co. LTD on the front. Can anybody say how old it could be?

It pre-dates the launch of 14 yo Oban in the Classic Malts range - so in all probability the early 1980s. What an all-time bad whisky bottle !

I own a bottle of it. My dad bought it in 1980. Does any one know much it is worth?

If it's the Diamond shaped Decanter we are talking about (it was released in the 80's) you can still buy it at The Whisky Exchange, price 225 Pounds - http://thewhiskyexchange.com.
You could probably find it a bit cheaper at eBay or at http://www.whiskyauction.de
