Another interesting old Ardbeg

Postby Deactivated Member » Sun Jul 30, 2006 2:39 pm

Ardbeg 30 year old 1975, 47.8% Platinum Selection Whisky

By following the link above one can view another veryy old Ardbeg for sale, perhaps more within the reach of those of us who are limited in our worldly possessions, and still are required to ask the old 'emma chisit' question.

At a 'mere' £300 a bottle, it is expensive, but still far more affordable than the £2000+ asking price for the official bottling.

Looks fine and tasty to me!!

Yes, I too am sure that is an excellent bottling! Most everything from those Douglas Laing brothers is. And definitely more affordable than the new 40 year old released by Ardbeg. Thanks for the link M.R.J.!

It would be interesting if anyone has sampled this whisky, or seen any review, to know how it has been rated in taste.

I'm resurrecting this thread to see if anyone has tried this particular whisky yet. There is another, exactly like it, listed at RMW as being 46.1% abv:

anyone had it?

Dear IanRWilliams

The bottle you see at RMW was released only a few weeks ago, whislt the one you see from whiskys.co.uk is from c. 9 months before - I think it was the spring of 2006 when it was released.

It seems a little rich for me.

Here endeth the lesson according to the dog
