Bowmore (Old ??)

Postby Fergie » Tue Aug 08, 2006 11:07 pm

Another bottle fond hiding in the attic, which means I've had it for a fairly long time.
There is a similar bottle at TWE but it's not quite the same, so I would like some info on this one. It is definitely a collectors item, (I think).

Cheers.

(Oops, made the photo's a bit too big. I'll try and get them smaller)

(Thats it, They've been smallerised :) )

I knew that I had seen one of these, exactly the same bottle sold on Ebay, but I didn't record the date, which means it was most likely 2-3 years ago, for €172

The Whisky Exchange seem to have three on offer (or at least at a quick glance they look like the same one).
I guess two are French imports as they have a French (Mis en bouteille ....) on the bottom of the label, the third has a different style of box.

Two are 249 GBP, the third 349 GBP.

It was because of the diferences between my bottle and the bottles shown on The Whisky Exchange that made me wonder if I had a genuine collectable.

Cheers.

Your bottle is definitely a collectible, the slight differences just alter the value slightly.

Hello PeatPirate

No, I didn't really think about it. But as it ran onto a pitch, it must be something to do with football. Or even cricket. Or it could have ran onto a freshly tarred road I suppose.

Cheers.

Couple of reasonable offers dangling carrots in front of me.

To be honest though, I'm getting a bit fedup with it all, with the wild goose chases etc. and will be a bit glad to see the back of them.

Mate, give them to Martin Green at McTears. The prices he gets have been excellent over the last 18 months. Easy, no messing. i am throwing some stuff at him again in the Spring sale. If want to talk in depth, send me an private message with your number and we can have a chatter-roonie.

happy Christmas to all my whisky anorack buddies
