Port Charlotte, Links V and a new 1986 dark sherry

Postby Deactivated Member » Fri Sep 01, 2006 9:54 pm

I have just received news today of some new bottlings from Bruichladdich.
These don't appear to have made the Laddie website yet, so maybe you're hearing this here first?

1. Port Charlotte
"Evolution" "PC5 Cask Strength"
2001
63.5%
Less than 1000 bottles will be supplied to Germany.

2. 1986 Vintage
Dark Sherry No. 3
50.8%
Only 500 bottles for Germany

3. Links V
Royal Liverpool Hoylake

It seems that Bruichladdich did not stop at the originally intended four 'Links' editions, here is No. 5.

The Port Charlotte 5 is going to be about £90. Gulp.

90 GBP!!!!! Gulp indeed!

It has been pre-listed by my wholesale supplier here in Germany and I expect it will be nothing like that price!

I can only say that if I get the two cases that I have requested, at the published price, then I would expect my price to be in the region of €65 per bottle.
(That's around half your quoted price!)

But delivery has been quoted as "not before beginning of October".
(Maybe I should ask for 4 cases!)

Port Charlotte

Postby Lesw » Wed Oct 18, 2006 1:57 pm

I purchase a cask of Port Charlotte direct from the distillery in August 2001. It will be ready in 2011. I wonder what it is now worth given the current interest levels?

Hi,
what do you mean with 'it will be ready in 2011'?
The whisky is ready when you think it's a good and drinkable whisky. In 5years there will be a lot of Port Charlotte whiskies either private or orignal bottlings and what do you think it will be worth?
greetings
