Canadian Whisky. bottle shaped like CN Tower

Postby velocci » Tue Oct 30, 2007 2:08 pm

Hi all, my father has a bottle of canadian whisky where the bottle is shaped like the CN tower. He's had this bottle since i was a kid (i'm 35 years old).
I don't know how makes it. Has anyone seen this? Is it worth anything?

I would email the owner of the site at: dsoneil@gmail.com (from the website) and ask him to forward your request to that poster. They must be able to see the email address, since it is entered when posting a comment.

I hope this works out, would be nice you could get in touch..

The whiskey was produced by McGuinness Distillers in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I was approx. 20 and worked for my father, who designed the bottle in 1977, or sometime thereabouts! It has been out of circulation for years and I have tried to find a bottle. My niece has recently found two, empty, bottles which were auctioned on Ebay. I'm not sure how much she paid, but since they were empty, I'm sure it would be a lot less than the full, unopened bottled.

If anyone is will to sell one of the full bottles, I would love to know. Please post on here if you are interested.

I'm not sure because I really don't know anything about collector bottles! What do you think it would be worth?

I'm a bit curious about the date of the bottle. You said it's from 1969, but I know that bottle was produced on a much later date. The CN Tower itself wasn't completed until the mid 70's. I did read that the idea of building the tower was conceived in the 60's so maybe that's what the date it's referring to. Maybe I should ask my father!!!!!!! Where is the date on it?

Hi There,
I am looking for an version of this item - for the ribbon cutting a special box was made - the box itself
was shaped like the tower and was designed by my father-in-law. I would love to find one for
my husband. I would prefer a full bottle of whiskey, but i would also take empty - or with
no bottle at all.
thanks

I currently have 1 full bottle from 1969 and one empty bottle from 1969. Mine both have tassels on them, not sure if they only used them for a few years or what. It's hard to find info on these bottles.

I have discovered an unopened, 1974, 710 ml #1974 G5721426 bottle in my fathers den. The bottle is a little dusty but otherwise immaculate. Does anyone know its value ?

Cheers! :headbang: :D

I have a bottle of 1971 CN Tower (sealed) and am wondering if I should have it insured, but I have no idea what it is worth. There is nothing on Craigslist or Kijiji. Can anyone help with an idea of the value?
