or am I better to just save the extra money and getting a 1litre bottle of the standard 10 of Talisker?

Treat youself & buy the Fascadale. My sisters bought me a bottle for Xmas and it is sublime. Not an everyday tipple but you did say it was to treat yourself.
You won't regret it.
