Kininvie was never really offered as a regular single malt though they did release 2 limited editions, Hazelwood 105 and Hazelwood Reserve found only at the World Of Whiskies at Heathrow and no longer available (there).

Grants have probably decided that Ailsa Bay will be Kininvie's replacement. Kininvie's whisky failed to make it as a malt in it's own right, too dull.

I believe it was not well regarded, although the cask samples I tried had nothing to be ashamed of.

I tasted so far 2 casks samples from 1990 Kinninvie (1x Bourbon and 1x Sherry). They were pretty good, but not exceptionnal.

Kininvie is is one third of Monkey SHoulder these days and they have enough stocks to meet this demand for the next couple of decades. I would expect to see the odd release if a specific cask does something interesting but that is about it. Otherwise, yes mothballed but but still there and able to get going again very simply as many of the facilities (wash room etc) are on the same site as The Balvenie.

I expect it is far more than 33% - I ismply meeant one of the 3 malts involved. At £22 ish a bottle for Monkey Shoulder you would do well have it being an even split with The Balvenie and Glenfiddich!
