Are Ardbeg Committee bottlings available in the US?

Postby pickleydoo » Thu Jun 02, 2011 5:15 pm

Hello folks,

Ardbeg's email about the Committee bottling of Alligator states:

Committee members in the US are able to enjoy the special Committee bottling of Alligator. So if you're brave enough to catch a bottle or two, you can snap them up now at your nearest Ardbeg retailer.

Does this mean local retailers in the US will have the Committee bottling in stock? That sounds somewhat strange. The online store won't send to the US so unless this is true, looks like we're waiting until the general release.

Also... I am almost positive at one point there was a part of Ardbeg's website that was divided into what could be sent to the US and what couldn't (it was just like a "US Corryvreckan" and a "US Uigeadail"). Am I making that up?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Chris

Alligator is on sale in the US and many have already sold out. I think it was Rollercoaster last year that was the first committee bottling to be sold in the US

bcrossan,

Thanks for the reply. Where is it on sale in the US? Is it for sale online or in brick & mortar liquor stores? Should I contact a distributor or a representative to find out where in my location it is available?

Thanks,

Chris

I know KL Wines, Binnys, and Julios all got it and sold it out. Those are all brick and mortar with online sites. I know not all states have gotten theirs yet so you may still have a chance. Where are you located?

bcrossan,

I am located in Washington, DC. I've called all the places around here and no one has heard of it! I've also called over to Shoppers Vineyard up in New Jersey and Warehouse Wines and Liquor in NYC and they don't know about it either.

Is there any way I can contact a local rep?

Thanks,

Chris

Try Hi Times Wines in CA or Park Avenue Liquors in NYC

I believe there was also a Corryvrekan US Committee Release but I think that about sums up all of them.
