CARRINGTON CANADIAN WHISKY?????

Postby stubassman » Wed Jul 06, 2011 2:50 pm

DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I COULD FIND CARRINGTON WHISKY? I USED TO DRINK IT BACK IN THE 1970'S WHEN I WOULD TAKE MY ANNUAL FISHING TRIP TO CANADA. IT WAS DISTILLED IN ALBERTA AND I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND IT ANYWHERE.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME AT MY EMAIL ADDRESS: STUBASSMAN@AOL.COM

I started drinking this in Grade 13, back in 1972. On ice with a bit of water. When I got to University I abandoned Carrington for Glenlivet and have never looked back. I think it disappeared off the shelves in the early 80s.

I will have to ask my buddy in the business about it.

In the interim, try Alberta Springs, by the same company.

Hi Musky,

Thanks for your input and, in advance, for checking with your friend in the business. Even if I found a blend that I liked as well as the Carrington product, I would still continue my search. The nostalgic aspect of the whisky drives me to find a source. My long time fishing, hunting, and card-playing companion and best friend has passed , but the numerous memories of sharing a bottle of Carrington with him lingers on.

I was introduced to Carrington by a good friend as well. We'd attended High School together, and when he moved to Toronto, I drove down with him in his truck to deliver his furniture. Imagine two young northern hicks on a 400 Series highway in a beater of a truck trying to find the turn off!

We found it, delivered the stuff and 6 months later I was back as his Best Man at his wedding. Again, we drank a lot of Carrington.

I too have fond memories of Dave and this whisky. I had looked for it to send him a bottle a few years ago and never found it.

Good luck in your hunting.

Hi there,

it seems that Alberta distillery is under the Jim Beam umbrella.

Your best bet would probably be to contact Beam Global or one of their reps.

Somebody there will be able to tell you if Carrington is still made.

Greetings
