Help finding professional distillery photos to buy online

Postby JMW » Tue Nov 22, 2011 11:00 am

Hi everyone,

I am wondering if anyone knows a good source for professional quality distillery photographs that are available to purchase for commercial use?

Thanks in advance,

JMW

Hi JMW

A friend who used to be a professional photographer, living in the Inverness area, has a small library of distillery images, but I don't think they are on line. If you pm me I could pass on any information to him.

Try GW Publishing, they did the shots for David Stirk's book and I believe they have a library of shots they sell. let me know if you are having problems locating them.

Thanks for the helpful replies.

Pip54 - thanks for the tip, I shall PM you for the details, as i'm particularly struggling to get images for the old Inverness distilleries.

jmrl - I've found GW Publishing - looks like they do quite a lot of interesting stuff. Will get in touch with them to see what they have. Cheers!

I also managed to find a series of excellent black and white photos by Professor John R Hume, taken from the 60's onwards. They feature about 80% of the active distilleries of the time, including rarities such as Ladyburn, Millburn, Caledonian, etc.

They're available to view on http://www.rcahms.gov.uk/ for anyone who's interested.

Cheers all.
