Bourbon and Rye Whiskey!

Postby Jonwin » Thu Dec 22, 2011 12:44 pm

Hi, I'm a big fan of Scotch Whisky, Single malts to be specific.

I'm Heading to Dallas, Texas to meet a friend, and i thought this would be a good opportunity to try out a good Bourbon or Rye Whiskey.

This is a subject I know very little about, I've tried a good bourbon in the past, it was a bottle of Black Maple Hill, and it was great.

Other then that I Barely know any good Bourbon's and Rye Whiskey.

Any Suggestions would be great!

Thanks a lot

Some of my favorites (albeit some are very hard to find)

Pappy Van Winkle 15yr
William Larue Weller
Eagle Rare 17
Sazerac 18 (rye)
Thomas Handy (rye)
Vintage Bourbon 17 (green waxed top)
High West Rendevous Rye

Bryan has given you very good advice. If you don't want to fork out for the Sazerac 18, you can always have a little of their younger offerings which are still pretty good. Another very good bourbon is the George T Stagg.
