Favorite Distillery?

This is a little bit of a loaded question, but I think it would be interesting considering the varied tastes we have on the forum.

What is your Favorite Distillery?

I have found among those that have tried a large number of whiskies that those peoples favorite distilleries are widely varied. Do not pretend you do not have one, I know you do. In other words, if a store had only one bottle from each distillery but they were all at the same price, ( and the wild assumption that you want to go with something you have already tried), which distilleries whisky would you grab?

My favorite distilleries are

1. Lagavulin
2. Talisker
3. Cragganmore

My ratings say GLENFARCLAS.

Now, if you ask me, I'll give you a different answer. Thing is that I don't have bad experiences with Glenfarclas. Fav distilleries are:

1. Macallan
2. Springbank
3. Ardbeg
4. Glenfarclas

But this is a different question compared to what are my best whiskies

What is your favorite distillery?

I simply refuse to be locked into any single response to this question for any longer than it takes me to change my mind (depending on offerings and quality variations, both of which are likely to alter my answer).

However, right at this moment, I'd have to say Springbank...

Still family owned.
Generally high standard of quality.
Complexity to boot.
A variety of stylistic variations on tap.
And an uncanny capacity to surprise as well as to please.

Yamazaki
Although I prefer the core range from Yoichi, Yamazaki can and does make almost any style of whisky and is the most innovative of the Japanese distilleries. I'd also say they are the most Japanesey of all the distilleries there. Unfortunetely much of this is never scene outside of Japan. I also have a soft spot for the stuff from Mars Shinshu. Can be quite hit and miss which can be expected from such a small concern, but when they hit it's well above their weight.

From Scotland it's Springbank/Longrow/Hazelburn.

Dram, just don't have enough knowledge to have a favorite. Yama has been good as has the few Yoichi.

My favourite distillery is Royal Lochnagar because:
- It is a beautiful distillery in a gorgeous landscape
- The staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about all the Diageo malts
- They have a large range of all the Diageo malts, including rare malts and limited editions, many of which you can sample before deciding if you are going to buy them
In short, its my favourite place in the world.

What, no Oklahoma 27... I like all your choices except I don't think I ever tried the Park Ave bottle. If you haven't gotten a bottle of the Oklahoma HP, I highly recommend.
