Johnnie Walker Black Label Millenium 2000 Edition

Postby julianvfr » Tue Jul 09, 2013 3:49 am

I was given a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label Millennium 2000 Edition bottle no E 04334 which I may open one day. The label on the bottle is not stuck on straight, not what I would expect from this brand, could it possibly be a fake and how could I authenticate it without breaking the seal?

A newbie

I am not sure why anyone would fake a Johnnie Walker product. For the most part, blends - even those commemorating an event - do not usually command enough of a premium to justify fakes. Other than not being straight, is the label damaged at all? Could it have gotten moist and been displaced?

To make it better? :P

To the OP, poorly applied labels are common and not automatically viewed as suspicious, however there are fakes out there so you should clear any doubts you have as it can occasionally get ugly.

Also i should add that most JW labels are not straight anyway and are what i would expect from this brand.

That's the bottle Bredman, I thought possibly the serial number may be a clue, I'll try emailing JW.

Thanks

Label is easy to fake, but the bottle (including) cap are quite unique in this release. The risk of it being a fake is low.
