Whisky for Burns night foods ?

I am reading about whiskey with foods on this forum. If you can have whiskey with foods what should you have for the Burns night eating ? My friend and I are having a supper and need to know the instructions. Is it true that when you have the correct whiskey for the hagis you pour it over the hagis and set fire to it ?
