Best whiskies

Last night we had out Burns supper here with some friends and made a surprise with one of the whiskies we were drinking.

At the finish we were with the Lagavulin which is my favourite and also Ardbeg which was not liked so much, which is strange as the packet says it is the best whisky in the world. Is this a whisky which you make ? Also we thought can there be a best whisky or do they get prizes for being the best whisky ?

I don't think there is such a thing as a "best whisky". Everybody has their own favourite to suit their own palete. My favourite is McCallum and Highland Park, but I like all of them.
