1st place: Catalunya (in Spain), L'Escala and Platja d'Aro (quite different...) near Gerona.

Why? Sun, beach, nature, sea (and seafood), wine, Cava, whisky... Whisky??

I don't know if they produce whisky...... I never saw
a bottle of "Catalunya Whisky" and maybe I'll never do, but they import a huge selection of whisky, at a reasonably price (30 % less than Italy, with some remarkable exceptions - Diageo Malts, for example)

In the meanwhile, I'm waiting for my winter travel in Germany, where there is my 2nd favourite place: Berlin. Alas, this year I cannot go to Berlin!
But I'm planning to go to Koln for Xmas or 1st january...

3rd place: ex-aequo Fort Collins, Colorado, and Chelmsford, Massachusetts, where I spent wonderful days...

But I like most of places I visited, Loutra Killini (Greece), Paris, Rome, Andalucia, Navarra, Prague, Madrid, Lissabon, Amsterdam, Boston, Denver, Athens, a lot of small towns in Italy, Delaware, etc.

It's very difficult to choose from!! In every place one picks up something and leaves something other.
