Evaporation

Postby gordy_gopher » Sun Feb 17, 2002 7:50 pm

Hello,

When browsing a website offering various miniature bottles for sale, I noticed from the photos that some of the whisky in the older bottles had evaporated.
As a new comer to collecting whisky bottles, I was a bit alarmed, how fast does evaporation happen, and is there anything we can do to slow it down? (i.e. storage conditions..)

Thanks

Gordon

One day I looked through the ebay-site for whisky and recognized one seller of miniatures who wrote about his offers, that he sealed his miniatures with varnish.

I dont know if it is a regular way to prevent evaporation in collector bottles.
