Hi,
I'm trying to understand the history of scotch drinking customs in Scotland, UK and the US. For example, how was it drunk by the Scots (neat, with water, with meals etc). How was it adapted by the Victorians? And then how were these customs in turn adopted by the US market when scotch became popular in the 1950s.
My hunch is that in markets where scotch is primarily a upper-class drink, rules and etiquette apply more??
