Loch Morar?

Postby Nodin » Wed May 22, 2002 2:54 am

I am just wondering if anyone knows anything about Loch Morar? A friend introduced me to this last week. The bottle was perfume bottle shaped and claimed to be a 12yo Highland Malt. There was no reference to a distillery on the label. It was released by IDC in Edinburgh. It was a nice light whisky and went well with the campfire, though we did have to resort to plastic cups as it was a long walk. Anyone know this one?
Thanks and Taa,
Nodin

BTW, I brought a bottle of Talisker as my offering and there was no contest as to the better whisky (though i am a biased Talisker freak!)

Hi Nodin,

the whisky firm All Saint´s Brands (Minneapolis, USA) sells the Loch Morar with an age of 8, 12 and 18 years. It´s a "classic" Speyside single malt "from the town of Elgin" they say. But the whisky has its name from the Loch at the western coast near Malaig.
