Was the Springbank distillery sold? Will I still be able to buy Springbank 21?

AFAIK, Springbank remains in the hands of J & A Mitchell & Co. The 21yo is now scarce and growing scarcer as it has been replaced by the new 15yo. The 21yo will not be released again for another six years or so. So, if you see a bottle of the 21yo, grab it! The last time I checked, there were about 80 or so bottles remaining in Pennsylvania stores. Call your local store and ask about it.

Hi,

Speedy John has a point here. The 21Y old is going to be very scarce, and will be back on the shelfs again somewhere in 2008.
The mitchells still own the Springbank Distillery aswell as the Longrow, and the latest aquistion the Glengyle Distillery.
I believe that at a certain point the name Mitchell will change in the name Wright, just a thing I have heard some years ago.
So grab your stuff while it still last, or otherwise you have to wait quite a long time......

Slainte,
