The "local"

Postby Deactivated Member » Mon Jul 29, 2002 4:32 pm

Just thought it would be nice to hear about where members like to frequent when they go out for a dram.Anyway here's my "local". It is The Russell Hotel.Being in St Andrews some of you golfeers out there might have or may have come accross it already. It is a small family run establishment with 10 rooms and a wonderful restaurant.Your host is Gordon de Vries who is always happy to talk whisky with anyone who asks .The bar has about 50 or so whiskies and my favourite at the moment is the Springbank Rum Cask.Prices are good ,the most expensive being the Balvenie 25 at £6.50 a splash. The staff are always friendly and happy to help but you better watch out for Kathy(ha ha).Anyway must go, but if you're ever in my "local" I'll be the one propping up the bar with a half pint and a nip and will answer to the name Livvy.
cheers for now
