I have purchased a bottle of Gran Reserva (distilled 1979 bottled 1997) And I think it might be "corked." The cork is stained perhaps halfway through.
A preliminary sampling uncovered a heavy and somewhat disapoining malt (a real contrast with the livelier 'regular' vintages).
Maybe I need to drink some more, but I am wondering if the cork which has been marinating in the malt has affected the taste.
Or is the gran reserva 79 slightly overrated?
