Interesting Jameson 1780 12 Year Bottle

I was in a liquor store in San Diego, CA earlier today and came across this interesting bottle of Jameson 1780 12 Year Irish whisky:

Anyone familiar when this bottle was released? It looked different than the current bottling here in the US so I figured I would pick it up...

Once again that is an older version of the Current Jameson 12yo...

Some would say a beter more flavoursome version.

Quite collectable and getting rarer but not overly valuable. Probably worth 50-70Euro but I stand to be corrected.

Well worth a try a very nice whiskey.

What did you pay for it in the end ....

Yes, it is the labelling has changed twice since this version. I have a few bottles of it at home, but haven' t opened one yet.

Thanks for the info IWC. I paid $30US for it at a small liquor store here in San Diego, CA. They also had a Glenfiddich 15 Cask Strength that I purchased for $34. Other than that, they did not have anything else that was interesting...

john would you be interested in selling a bottle?
My broehter went to ireland a few years back and brought home a bottle for our dad, sadly it was stolen a few months ago, i have been trying to find a replacement ever since. Born in america he hold proud of his irish heritage the bottle meant a lot to him.
