I most likely go through 5 a year and never really paid much attention to the dates but the open one I have is just a week over 15 yo and the one waiting in the wings is a week shy of 16.

I asked for a list, the answer is disappointing. They describe, that David Stewart selects older barrels for that bottling... :headbang:

just opened a new one, just under 18 years:

In Cask: 5/17/1990
Bottled: 2/15/2008
Cask: 8278
Bottle: 175

Also, just picked up:

In Cask: 5/17/1990
Bottled: 2/15/2008
Cask: 8271
Bottle: 25

:thumbsup: I opened the bottle from cask 8278 tonight and it was excellent.

For example:
Who owns a bottle with in cask date "26.05.1992"? There must be (minimum) 3 cask with this date:
cask 4581- bottled 25.10.2007
cask 4603 - bottled 07.11.2007
cask ???? - bottled 08.11.2007

Help wanted! :lol:

When lohssanami were looking around last week we saw the oldest 15yo I have seen. An 18yo. 1990-2008. Had to take a second look... yep... For a lot less money than the 17yo standard bottling.

Don't think it's a typo... :roll:
I know at least from 2 other cask filled on 17.11.1980 and bottled on 26.04.2002 (cask 16169 and 16171).

Does anyone know if this expression is--or is becoming--rare? I believe it's available locally, but I really hadn't planned on getting a bottle until sometime next year. But if it's going to be sold out by then, I guess I'd better get it now...

Is there a website or something that lists expressions that are becoming increasingly hard to find?

I was about to toss the empty bottle when I remembered someone had asked for the info. Unfortunately I can't make out the writing very well. It is either cask# 7608, 4608 or 1608. 26/5/92 - 8/11/07.

I think it was cask # 4608. On 26/5/92 casks # 4581 (bottled 25/10/2007) and # 4603 (bottled 07/11/2007) were also filled... :wink:

I just picked up the newest version I've seen. 11/11/89-17/6/08, (18 years and 7 months). Cask #14664, bottle #230. Also the label and tube are slightly altered, nothing dramatic, just different wording and number colors.

Also noticed that all of the numbers on the new bottle are hand written instead of printed.

Have generally like the older, higher proof editions better.
