Ardbeg Corryvreckan?

A friend just told me he got a mailing from Ardbeg with an order form for a new expression by the above name. Google yields nothing and the Ardbeg site won't let me in. I know I look young for my age....

Anyone know anything about this?

There's nothing on their website. I suggest you speak to your friend and get hem or her to read the mailing to you. That sounds like all the info there is (and I googled Adrbeg Corryvreckan and didn't even get this thread. Nothing.

Nevermind. Apparently it's only for committee members and won't mail to the US. Sounds like something for Collector's Corner. Maybe it comes in a golf bag or violin case.

I googled corryvreckan and came up with a straight by this name between Jura and Scarba with a whirlpool. Ardbeg is known for using geographical names but I thought they usually used more local names.

3rd largest whirlpool in the world and a likely target for a name, but I would have thought more likely to be used by Jura. Hope it is a committee bottling, it sounds like fun.

Last one was April 2007. If the Corryvreckan is a Committee bottling let's hope it's a reasonable price. I'm stretched thin this month already after the Longrow 18 and the Springbank society bottling!!!!

I got my notice in the mail today. Of course, the fine print says no shipping to the US so I guess I'm SOL. Does anyone know how strictly they enforce this rule? Like if I gave them a call would I be able to talk them into sending me one?

Anyway, details for those interested:
45lbs for a 70cl bottle (includes UK duty & VAT)
57.1% ABV
No mention of age that I could find

Hi everyone

5000 bottles seems a lot for a limited edition....perhaps 2 bottles per committee member would've been nice or am I just being greedy !

The Committee Very Young 4002 bottles
The Committee Oogling 1392 bottles.

Can anyone tell me if this is the Committee bottling of the soon to be released Ardbeg Renaissance 10 Y.O or is it a totally different bottling ?

Les, and everyone, the Ardbeg ambassador in Norway told me about a month ago it's gonna be the year for Ardbeg! And that's all he said, nothing else, damn him!
