As usual excellent publication, if anybody hasn't bought one yet you're missing out. As good value as possible, better in fact. Loads of pointers, figures and info.

Also is it just me or has the spirit safe on the cover fallen over?

Too hot to drink whisky?

Add some ice, man...

I am not not of chlorinated ice cubes and prefer to taste it neat, with a dash of tastless water . With 35°C like last saturday, it is not the best time. Fortunately, I have a backlog of tasting notes sufficient to last until the end of year, if needed.

Patrick try cooling a couple of pebbles (washed obviously) in the fridge or freezer. They can keep the dram cool enough for long enough to drink it and there's no dilution. I have had the temperature problems in Turkey at 45C. Its not perfect, because the temperature runs through a gradient from cold to warm, but it works ok and it means you don't have to abstain.

I think I will simply taste my whiskies on cooler days (e.g., after a storm) but the pebbles are indeed a good idea.
