Interesting to see a blend at the top of the tree - Ballantine's 17 year old. Haven't tried it myself yet but will have to give it a go now to see if I agree. :D

I seem to recall he did this before with Berry's Blue Hanger. It was very nice, there's no doubt, but I just prefer the greater weight of malts.

It is a rather pleasant blend and the most peated Ballantines of the range (12/17/30). It is well done, but to consider it as the best whisky in the world, this is a question of personnal taste.

JM is Ard-centric. Look over the whisky of the year awards for the last 4 years. Recall that he had the Ten and Uigedail as WOY in back to back years.

Mikey on the other hand seems to have is own occult following (not a bad thing mind you) and will soon rule the world. :P

After reading that article, I wan't in Mikey! Perhaps I could be high priest of Scandinavia (unless MacDeffe is Danish then he got dibs).

If religous cults where tax exempt here, I'de 'ave started one a long time ago Mikey.
