Looking for information on lost Aberdeen distillieries

Hi,

I'm trying to research the history of three distilleries that used to be in Aberdeen, namely Devanha, Strathdee and Bon Accord.

All I have so far is what i've read in Scotch Missed and Alfred Banyard's book. If anyone has any information, pictures or resource of any kind I'd be extremely grateful!

It's almost certainly worth checking out Misako Udo's book The Scottish Whisky Distilleries. It is a treasure trove of technical detail, although not strong on narrative.

Perhaps Aberdeen City library will have records. You can still see a warehouse (Devanha?) from the train just before crossing the Dee.

jmrl, you're right - it is Devanha you can see from the train - it's just a shame the lettering on the roof is now gone. I've tried the library and was surprised to find that they've got next to nothing - odd considering that with 3 distilleries, it was once a fairly big industry for the city...
