Mine arrived a few days ago and it's an unusual book, there is a distinct lack of paragraphs but it is chock full of facts and figures on every Scottish Distillery you've ever heard of and quite a few that you've never heard of.

I think you could safely say that it's a very thorough reference book but not one to read with a dram.

It'll be a good resource for my whisky library.

It's a great reference book, especially if you're about to hold a tasting...it gives you just about all the information you need!!

My copy is already well used!!!

Definately not a photo-filled coffee table book. And no tasting notes.

But filled with hundreds of pages of detailed distillery notes. Each distillery's cat is even named (or stoats in the case of Laphroaig).

The ultimate book for the 'whisky anorak'.

Love it.

The Scotch Blog had an interesting write up on it (and Misako Udo, the author, also contributes to the Whisky 101 forums, which I encourage everyone to check out at http://s3.phpbbforfree.com/forums/whisky101.html). It's a hard book to find, but you can still order it off eBay from the author, as I just did. I look forward to reading it.

She was on the show last week to talk about the book, and was a charming interview! It's in Episode 21 of WhiskyCast if you want to go back for a listen...

What is your comment when I say if you got the books Scotch Missed (Brian Townsend), The Scottish Whisky Distilleries (by Misako Udo) combined will give us all the information you need to know about distilleries.
To my opinion these books are far out the best published so far (I mean by new realeses)
